Statement Regarding COVID-19
March 11, 2020
To All Families & Visitors,
We know some of you may be concerned about the spread of COVID-19 (the new coronavirus) being reported in the media and how it may impact us here at Maria Joseph Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Ensuring our staff and residents are in a safe and healthy environment is our greatest concern. Currently, we don't have any cases in our facility. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have recommended a variety of steps that we are implementing to help reduce the potential for the virus to enter our building.
This guidance included measures to prevent unnecessary exposure to our residents and staff through Limited Visitation. Maria Joseph will implement Limited Visitation starting today. Limited visitation means visitors should not be allowed to come into the facility, except for certain situations, such as end-of-life situations or when a visitor is essential for the resident's emotional well-being and care. In addition, we are also screening all contractors, vendors, and other support personnel for essential visitation. Professional medical staff that cares for the resident will determine the necessity of the visit.
At this time, we request that family and friends do not visit the facility. We understand the hardship this may place on the families and residents of the facility; however, the vigilance that is required to protect this vulnerable population necessitates these measures. Thank you in advance for your understanding as we move forward.
